Pasting the Lunar New Year's paintings is one of the ancient folk custom which implies exorcise evil and welcome the fortune.The Door-god picture is an important category of the folk woodcut Spring Festival paintings,which have their own artistic characteristics in different regions.This paper shows the features of the Military Door-god and the embodiment of secularity of the Mianzhu painting by analyzing the composition.the drawing of line.the combination of color.the selection of character and the auspicious decoration,also comparing with the manifestation of Military Door-god in other different regions.On the basis,I further analyze the historical origin of Mianzhu,the local folk customs,the geographical environment,the economic development,the aesthetic characteristics and so on,as well as make an analogy of other type of arts produced locally,then explore the causes of the secular characteristics of Mianzhu New Year paintings,thus forming a new cognition of Military Door-god image in Mianzhu and Chinese traditional New Year paintings.
