Shen Congwen's "Desire Narrative" reflects his equal mood of sexual matters and affairs of state by realistically describing his psychology, with vivid characteristics of autobiography, with munificent social connotation, carrying his great will of exploring the inmost national culture psychology and creating national character. "Sex" in his works represents vitality and the proof of "life drive" as well; it is the concrete construal of Shen Congwen's divine.Shen Congwen's aesthetics of "beauty in life" shows how he understand the society, individuals and life, fully embodying his profound speculation of man's nature, man's fate, man's pursuit and ideal. Shen Congwen's "Desire Narrative" has idyllic aesthetic eyeshot and elegiac inherent judgment, showing the double significance of beauty and sorrow. Shen Congwen resisted the doctrine of predestination. It is this doctrine of predestination that shows the aesthetic judgment of Shen Congwen's "Desire Narrative"--elegiac yearning. The sense of belonging of the Chu Culture drove him to create a more lyrical, purer, clearer, briefer aesthetic figure through his "Desire Narrative", which shows his supple and melancholy aesthetic style of poetry.Shen Congwen's life form is the development process of writing guided by his free will. He endlessly continued to create his self in the development. This article, from the standpoint of life philosophy, tries to make a research on Shen Congwen's life philosophy and the aesthetic significance of the life form in his works in order to explore the inmost cause of Shen Congwen's "Desire Narrative".
