Xu Fuguan's ideology of literary aesthetics has four clues, of which half are dominant while half are recessive. Historically most theoreticians tend to commence research and study of XU's ideology from its dominant clues. The fact is that, Via Japan, Xu's ideology refers to and assimilates western literary aesthetic theories, which have great influences on the formation of his own theory. This dissertation would set from this aspect, aim to introduce and dissertate Xu Fuguan's ideology of criticism, reference and assimilation to theories of Freud Sigmund and Immanuel Kant. In addition, it is to discourse the origin of western theories which have promoted the formation of Xu Fuguan's ideology of literary aesthetics, and furthermore, clarify the misinterpretations to Xu's theory in academia.
