Animal movie, which rises up rapidly in the past few years, has shocked the world more and more frequently. Those "non-human" live continuously create miracles of box office. Animal movies have already changed from early kids' movies or pet movies to those with brilliant artistic quality and human connotation. As animals being the main character, the shooting styles are unique in visual presentation. Simultaneously, animals living under the cinematograph reflect human being's understanding toward the nature and life, as well as the self-recognition and spirit state of human beings.Although animal movie can't be put into any traditional movie genre, it is of great aesthetic value and profound cultural connotation. Booming of such movie is based on great support of material and technique, and duo to deep ideology origin. However, theory circles do not pay enough attention to animal movie. It's very meaningful to probe into this thriving movie genre theoretically.This thesis will discuss this movie genre and its unique value theoretically -. It's divided into 4 parts: development of animal movie, reasons of its booming, form and expression, as well as the relationship between human being and animal. With research on the development and modality of animal movie, as well as the movie pattern and presentation, I would like to dig into biology, anthropology and aesthetics, so as to acquire more value among animal movies.
