Haydn The Hurricane Symphony Study

On the basis of music analysis, this dissertation made research on Haydn's"Strum und drang Symphony"during the late 1760s and early 1770s. The study has ascertained the number and style of"Sturm und drang Symphony"and construed the style's origin which is come from C.P.E.Bach and Haydn's experience in religion and drama music. Combined with"Sturm und drang"in German literature, the author deemed that there is not a simple infection relation between"Sturm und drang"and"Sturm und drang Symphony". So, the author sum up that these symphonies is the production of Haydn's experimentation and exploration phase. And the cognition of romantic style in"Sturm und drang Symphony"should have a discriminate measure. The same with"Sturm und drang", these symphonies are the incarnator of the Zeitgeist in 18 century which fills with great change in society and culture.
