Students Elderly Explicit Attitude And Implicit Attitude Measurement And Comparison

Attitude is the stable and appraise disposition inside mentally,which is held by individual when he does out reaction to a specific social object with certain way. Therefore,when we are going to inspect the true attitude of someone to a certain object, it is required to measure his explicit attitude as well as implicit attitude.Implicit attitude refers to that an unconscious trail caused by experiences and attitudes accumulated, affects individual's particular emotion inclination , cognition and behavior to certain object. Explicit attitude extremely easy to accept society expection , while, implicit attitude does not and maintains stable. Generally, scale or self-reports measures explicit attitude.In this research,it is edited an attitude scale to measure the university student's attitude to the senior citizen and is tested its reliability and validity .Then, with this scale and the IAT the researcher test 58 university students'attitude and make comparision.The result showed scale of the attitude of the university student to the senior citizen may be the measuring tool. There are nearly 40% of the testees' explicit attitude disagree with their implicit attitude. The research indicated that to obtain the university student's true attitude to senior citizen must test explicit attitude as well as implicit attitude. Quite part of the university student's explicit attitude and implicit attitude is inconsistent.In regards to the attitude of the university student to senior citizen, explicit attitude and implicit attitude is not related.
