The Spirit Of Traditional Culture, Chinese Contemporary Sculpture

In the view of historical materialism, the paper investigated the returning phenomenon of the traditional culture in the most basic and representative Chinese contemporary sculpture works by the way of studying documents, analyzing works and investigation. The paper also analyzed the surface and essential characteristic, and expounded the reason why the traditional culture in the Chinese contemporary sculpture works returned in the different kinds of levels and views. Meanwhile, it pointed out the Chinese sculptures'understanding to the tradition under the development of politic and economic, as well as the expression of the ethnic confidence and the sense of time's responsibility.The whole paper is divided into 5 chapters:Introduction: Putting forward the objective, the significance and the studying method of this task from the background of the task.Chapter1: The summary of development of the Chinese traditional sculpture and the Chinese modern sculpture. The exploration of the sequence of the development of the Chinese traditional sculpture and the trace of the Chinese contemporary sculpture in the macroscopic view.Chapter2: Starting with the art spirit of the Chinese traditional sculpture, discussing mainly the Chinese traditional aesthetic sense, and the treasure of the Chinese traditional culture, moreover, analyzing the traditional spirit and the aesthetic feature in the Chinese sculpture works.Chapter3: In this section, analyzing mostly the returning phenomenon of the traditional culture in the contemporary sculpture works. Firstly, referring to the western culture shock; after that, especially, talking about the influence of the western ideological trend from the time of Reform and Open, the Chinese traditional sculptures'exploration and the consulting from the other aesthetic category culture, the Chinese traditional sculptures'exploration on the traditional culture return and the sculptures'consulting from the other aesthetic category culture. At last, emphasizing the Chinese contemporary sculptures and their works under the influence of the Chinese traditional culture background.Chapter4: Analyzing the reasons why the traditional culture in the contemporary sculpture works returned, the author divided the reasons into three parts to explore: 1. Putting forward the problem how to create the modern sculpture art with the Chinese characteristic and the time's spirit under the new time's background. Furthermore, revealing the practical meaning of the thesis and the art truth that the modern sculpture workers must grasp while they creating.Conclusion: Concluded the whole paper.
