Dmitri·Dmitrievich·Shostakovich(1906-1975)a famous composer ,pianist and social activist in Soviet Union in the 20th century, Who is widely accepted as the greatest symphonist in the 20th century. His creation flies his own colors. Although he inherits tradition, he actually has the individuality. As soviet's great composer, he scrupulously follows the socialist realism creative principle. And he sticks to utilize classical, traditional composing music techniques on his composition. Meanwhile, Shostakovich carries on series of transformations in the traditional domain. The harmony manifests individuality as well as conforms to the common law of harmony in the 20th century. It is a bold move to combine the semi-chromatic, new colored harmony effect with the most traditional, commonest chromatic techniques: the proficient polyphonic music writing techniques, making the harmony encircles in complicated melodies, creating a delicate, complex, explicit and concise style, i.e. the unique style of Shostakovich's.The thesis makes a cut, beginning with Shostakovich's two piano concertos and give consideration to the 15 principal symphonies, which are created during his life time. The thesis, to some extent, mainly makes the research from 5 perspectives: the structure of musical forms, the tonality, the chord structure, the chords progression, the melody composition, the methods which try to conclude his harmonic creative techniques by delicate analysis and arrangement together with induction.The significance of this thesis is to conclude the characteristics and causes of evolution, through harmonic creative style in different periods, which lay a foundation for further systemic research to Shostakovich's harmonic creative style.This thesis unfolds discussion from 3 parts:Chapter I: Shostakovich's life and brief introduction to his major creation.To file, compare and choose from different historical documentation to discuss Shostakovich's course of musical grow, creation period division and major works. Set positions for two research works, to ensure the master of works style.Chapter II: Harmony technique analysis of Shostakovich's two piano concertos.This part, on the basis of music text, makes description, analysis and generalization. It mainly fix attention on aspects of the overall structure, the tonality adoption, the structure of chord, the proceeding of harmony, the modulation technique of the works. inducts differences and similarities in the perspective of composing techniques, creation concepts and music style.Chapter III: Brief statement and evaluation on Shostakovich's music creation styleThis part is conclusion concerning Shostakovich's unique harmony creation language style, in accordance with the above analysis.
