Two-syllable Verbs. "modern Chinese Dictionary" Transfer Term Study

Modern Chinese all has the transferred-designation in the syntax and the morphology. The disyllable word is the basic shape of modern Chinese word, and it occupies the main body status in the modern Chinese lexis system. Therefore it is especially important to study the disyllable verb.The full article divides five chapters:First chapter "the introduction" first showed the research object of the article which is the disyllable word shifted from verb to noun in "Modern Chinese Dictionary" . Secondly, we review the former achievement of the study disyllable word and transferred-designation. Thirdly, we point out the shortage in study of transferred-designation, and draw out the article's main content: to conclude type of the disyllable word shifted from verb to noun; to make the explanation to the disyllable word shifted from verb to noun from the semantics and the cognition two angles. Finally, we make a brief introduction of the research method which uses to this article.Second chapter is the basic theory of the full text. It contains four part: Typical category and prototype theory; the argument of verb and valence theory; the centripetal structure and centrifugal structure theory; the reanalyzes theory.Third chapter includes the types of the disyllable word shift from verb to noun. First, we introduce the conception related to these. Second, according to examples we explain the standard. Third, seen from diachronic, we research the disyllable word shift from verb to noun. Finally, from the argument of action, we conclude the five types of the disyllable word shift from verb to noun: agent, target, result, instrument, dative.Fourth chapter is about to the analysis of disyllable word shifted from verb to noun. First we conclude the characteristic of them from different structure types. Secondly, we conclude the regular of them: seen from different structure types of transferred-designation which is the disyllable word, governor structure, coordinate structure and central structure is the majority; seen from the types of transferred-designation, it is that: patient> agent>instrument>dative. Then, from the semantic limit angle, we explained why these occured.The last the chapter refers to a brief summary on transferred designation in modern Chinese.
