The moral sanction is an important means of remaining social moral order. It plays an irreplaceable role in order to safeguard social morality and defend the moral authority. In this thesisⅠanalysis the essence, receiver, legitimacy the conditions and the limits of moral sanction to put out it is a necessary evil.First, I explored the basic content of moral sanction. Moral sanction as an ethical public punishment is different from legal punishment though they have ties. In practice, moral sanction is extensively used. There are two basic sanction forms external sanction and internal sanction. Its essence lies in the expression of moral feelings, self-discipline and unity, the realization of social justice.Secondly, I explored the moral legitimacy of moral sanction. Necessity of moral sanction in contemporary society need to be defended by the moral legitimacy. Utilitarianism moral sanction theory thinks the moral legitimacy lies in the ability to maximize the promotion of social well-being. The evil acts of retribution and advocates who deserve quality paper upheld justice priorities, and taking into consideration the utility. I advocated justice first, proper attention to both utility in this article.Finally I discussed how to practice moral sanction. There are three main conditions to achieve the moral sanction: the premise is free will, the means is the public opinion, and individual moral consciousness is the protection. Moral sanction should follow the limits of humanitarian principles and the principle of legal principles and timely.
