Abstract: The period of South Song Dynasty was between the North Song Dynasty and the South Song Dynasty. The government of the South Song Dynasty faced many difficulties for it was founded in the war, with only half land, half taxation and many financial problems. Therefore, it made many institutions to solve the problems. These institutions were strongly carried by local government and then by rural society. On the thesis, the concept of rural society of Liang zhe Lu points to rural people, whose main duties were taxation and corvee. So, the institutions made by central government of South Song Dynasty would add much pressure to the rural people in Liang zhe Lu. On this meaning, it's important to have a good knowledge of the people's pressure if we want to know the situations of the people then. The institutions to solve financial problems made by the government of South Song Dynasty did bad influences to the lives of rural people in Liang zhe Lu. By investigating the institutions of taxation Shen ding Qian and corvee, we can see that they made many rural people of the area leave their living places, not be able to concentrate on farming, and even use out all their own money to finish the task from local government. By new institutional economics, it can be explained that the government segmented the property rights of the rural people in Liang zhe Lu. The government of pre- South Song Dynasty led the economical lives, but the institutions they made had passive influences to the economical growth of Liang zhe Lu.
