Gaogio Morandi is frequently paid attention to in Chinain recent years, who is much more well-known in China than inEurope and even in Italy. In the early years of 20th century,he was thought to be a conservative figure lacking in modernsense. But in the later years, he was looked on with a new visionby people, which resulted from the background of the coolingof anti-modernism and postmodernism theory and the classicalelements were recalled again. In fact, he had never desertedthe modern art. Instead, he combined the modern art with theclassical art more elaborately in his works. The enrichment andprofundity in his works has emerged gradually with time goingon. In this way, it is quite natural for Morandi to be regardedhighly.Every success bears its necessity. Morandi took interestin the pursuit of arts from his childhood. And he made progressalong with a set arts track. Thus the study of traditional artsis absolutely necessary. He was greatly influenced byGiotto,Masaccio, Piero Della Francesca,, Chardin, Corot, Courbet,Cezanne and Seurat.Morandi formed his painting theory by living like a cenobite. The succession of the tradition and the modern influence gavehim the technical support. The construction, color and spaceare his basic painting languages. Trying to seek the mostessential visual construction, he was rewarded with hisprogress in arts. Although he didn't think the paintingconcerned any sense of literature, morality, philosophy andreligion, he was affected by them. Morandi was fond of peacein mind, freedom, simplicity and away from fame and wealth. These life attitudes had actually exerted subtle influence onhis aesthetic taste and his works.
