Balthus is called "the last emperor" of the realism in thewestern world. As the great artist of realism, he valued the tradition,had uniqh sight, painted many great works. Those works show peopleintensive spiritual idea. It' s covered by the solid images but deeplytouched people and proved real value of the works.In balthus' works, the image is just the means he show the spiritualworld. By using controlling the third dimention, predigesting the shapeand other skills on light and color, balthus made his paintings with richabstract taste. He firmly believe that at the back of the image there issomething we can't see but we can fell it by our heart.Balthus was walking on the realism, but his painting is different fromthe traditional realism. His realistic painting is full of abstractelements.
