Since the beginning of the new century, the rapid rise of China and India. People begin to pay more attention to behind the revival of the ancient civilization contained in the cultural factors. It is no exaggeration to say that culture is the soul of a nation. Traditional culture is a fundamental state of a nation, and the rise and fall of this nation. Traditional culture is produced in the course of historical development. It mainly refers to the spiritual and cultural traditions. It is the true spirit of a nation. It is the creativity of a nation in transforming the objective world and in Material producing and Spiritual activities. The modernization of traditional culture is a special variance process, and it is also the very highest level of the modernization process. As a deep-seated and internal reason, traditional culture lead people to the ideal of life, ethics and it defines the basic structure of society and customs, and influences people's lifestyles. It also has a profound impact on the modernization of the social development and human progress.India is an ancient civilization with a history of thousands of years. During the thousand of years of development, and on the basis of constantly absorbing nutrition of alien culture, India formed its own unique features of traditional culture. India's traditional culture is a multi-cultural synthesis. The essence of India's traditional culture is religious. From ancient until now, religion has been controlling people's spiritual life, value idea and behavior criterion all the time. In different periods of history, India's unique traditional culture has profoundly guided populace's ideology and the thought idea of each social stratum in domestic Indian. It has a significant influence to the development of Indian culture's modernization and the social development.China and India are the world's major ancient civilizations. And they both belong to oriental category in culture, and have quite many general characters. But China and India also have many differences in culture. China basically belongs to the Confucian culture circle; while India belongs to the Hindu culture circle. The India traditional culture has the formidable radiating power, which has a significant influence to Asia and even the world. Indian culture is more closely linked with the Chinese culture. In all external cultures, the Indian culture has the most lasting and extensive impact on the Chinese culture. To sort out the origin of Chinese culture, Indian culture, we must study and research, in which we can learn from the advanced culture in modern construction. Therefore, the modernization of traditional Indian culture is a major concern to our national culture reference. To study the modernization of traditional Indian culture, which can help us to better understand contemporary India, which can help us to better develop Sino-Indian relations and to explore the road of modernization and development of Chinese traditional culture. As can make Chinese culture adapt to the needs of modern culture.In this paper, we have used the following research methods: definition, Summarization, comparison, and so on. There are four main parts in the paper: Part one: the content and features of traditional Indian culture. Firstly, we defined the concept of traditional culture and the scope of study for India's traditional culture. Secondly, we expatiated the system of values and characteristics of traditional Indian culture. It also showed a strong religious diversity, tolerance and caste features.Part two:the process of modernization of traditional Indian culture. We started from the connotation of modernization and demonstrated the general theory of modernization of culture. Furthermore, we point out that modernization of culture is important and indispensable software for social modernization. That is a complex and tortuous process. Then we analyzed the development of the modernization about the traditional culture of Indian. It is the restructuring of India's traditional culture, but also is the process of Western culture's localization. In this process there are some new features.Part three: the problems that exist in the process of modernization of India's traditional culture. In this part, we explore the main factors that deeply impact the modernization process of India's traditional culture. Among them, as represented by the traditional Hindu culture is the most important issues which impact on the process of modernization of India's traditional culture. It affects all levels of society. The concept of caste is reinforced. That will not benefit for the development of society.Part four:the analysis of the modernization of India's traditional culture and the enlightenment to China. With the combination of objective evaluation for India's traditional culture, we analyzed the different ways and challenges in different countries and cultures, and we analyzed the enlightenment that modernization of India's traditional culture affected to China's.Through the research about modernization of India's traditional culture, we clearly see that Indian culture is facing enormous challenges and confusions in its modernization. Analysis of India's traditional culture and its modernization will help us to have a strategic thinking for modernization of Chinese traditional culture, and also help us to reflect on our national culture. Reasonable abandoned is the key of Chinese traditional culture's modernization. However, is not closed, but to open the eyes for the cultural innovation. With the same time, we must also firmly oppose and resolutely resist the corrosion of decadent ideas and cultures, so that we can maintain the independence of our national culture. If so, China's traditional culture will develop to modernization on a healthy path.
