Criminals'psychological remedy and treatment is an important job in prison management and prisoners'reclamation. This job has very important value in improving the security of prison management and the level of criminals'reclamation. Depression is a usual negative feeling in life of prison, which will have a serious effect on prisoners'daily behaviors and the security of prison management, because of its specialty. As a result, it is very important to take some effective actions on prisoners'depression. Cognitive interference is also a usual and effective method in improving depression.On the base of investigation on criminals'depression, this essay uses cognitive therapy as a method to get following results:1. The depressive level of criminals is obviously higher than that of average people.2. The depressive level of male criminals is relative to their marriage conditions and cultural backgrounds. Criminals who divorced and whose wives died have higher depressive level than those who were married. Prisoners who have high cultural level have lower depressive level.3. Male criminals attribute the reasons of their depression to three factors: the pessimism to their future, the poor condition of their personal relationship, the large intensity of their labor.4. Most of male criminals are willing to accepting psychological consultation through which they hope to receive help.5. The results of cognitive therapy, personal and group consultation are good to male s who have depression. The methods designed by the researcher are possible and operative. They can be carried out in prisoners'psychological remedy and treatment.
