The Overextension phenomena is an inevitable phenomena that children's understanding and usage about some language units oversteps the adults' understanding and usage in the process that children acquire their mother language. It may happened in every layers of language including phonetics, vocabulary and grammar. But limiting to the length of this paper and my individual research interest, this paper is mainly about the Overextension phenomena of vocabulary and grammatical structures.This paper has seven chapters, and contains one introduction. In the introduction, we mainly review the course of researches about overextension and defined overextension. In the straight matter, we use three chapters to discourse upon three categories of overextension phenomena and to elucidate the universal characters of every categories of overextension phenomena step by step based on six children's corpus. In the fourth chapter we analysed the order of overextension phenomena based on one children's corpus. In the fifth chapter we analysed the causations of overextension phenomena from the aspects of children's cognitive capability, the language character and the language input. The last chapter is brief summary of this paper. In this chapter we summarize this paper and redeclare our viewpoint that is that the course of children's acquiring mother language is not mechanical but active.So the parents should give children reasonable encourage and induct to help them to master mother language faster and better.
