A Research On Children’s Science Fictions Since The Beginning Of The New Period

With the tremendous changes in Chinese society and the rapid development of literature since the beginning of the new period,the ethos of valuing knowledge and advocating science has gradually revived,and children’s science fictions have also gained sufficient cultural and ideological soil for growth.Thanks to the revival of popular science and the thriving literary environment of children’s literature,children’s science fictions have gradually shown distinct thematic tendencies and aesthetic characteristics,becoming a genre in children’s literature that is both unique and in line with universal laws.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct thematic researches.Taking advantages of realism typicality and narrative theory,this paper starts from the theme of the works,focuses on character images,and finally explores narrative time,narrative space,narrative language narrative grammar.With regard to the theme of the works,since the debut of the new period,children’s science fictions in China have integrated child-orientation with societal modernization,ideological enlightenment and other realistic intentions,and synchronized with the grand vision of modernization with the "enlightenment" intention of cultivating scientific successors.It resumes the literary aesthetic appeal,which has been suspended for a long time,and further develops on the basis of enlightenment.And meanwhile,it also showcases the basic value of children’s literature with a value orientation towards children.In terms of figurative characterization,social customs,literary trends and writers’ technological ethics are all embedded in the characters,which can be summarized as "integrity and innovation" as a whole.The character in a "humanoid" image imagines various possibilities of "humans" in the specific context of technological development,and the adult character contemplates the complex relationship between technology and humanities,while the child character makes up adventurous romances constantly in the discourse of the times,which contains the author’s unique views on children.In reference to narrative art,children’s science fictions have the unique narrative style of their own.The spatiotemporal narratives in a large number of works break through the time and space stereotypes shaped by traditional literature and make the structure of the works more novel.Regarding the narrative language,children’s science fictions have the characteristic of "shallow language",and the language forms are adjusted according to different reader groups.As for the narrative grammar,children’s science fictions that wander inside and outside the "three laws of robotics" have formed a unique popular science narrative mode with deliberate logical reasoning,and also structured a narrative mode with the theme of self-contained growth.Overall,children’s science fictions have formed a unique style in their development since the start of the new period,but,here and now,with popular culture becoming increasingly prosperous,they still face many crises,which requires writers to further explore their themes,characters,language,etc.
