In the introduction of this thesis, the author introduced emphatically the views of scholars domestically and abroad on the Spain's history during Franco period and the politics theory of authoritarianism today, preparing the materials and theory for the dissertation on Franco's ruling of the authoritarianism following. In addition, the author also defined the concept of authoritarianism and related several, in order to guarantee the demonstration logically.The main text is divided three chapters, elaborated separately the establishment of Franco's ruling of the authoritarianism, the soaring of Spanish economy, and the evolvement of the Spanish politics and social life under the ruling of the authoritarianism. The author made every effort to have an overall apprehension to Franco's ruling of the authoritarianism in Spain from a macroscopic angle of view. The Franco regime's establishment is the result of the Spanish civil war, also is a new choice of Spain in its way to modernization. The kind of the Franco regime is the typical regime of the authoritarianism. Under the Franco's ruling of the authoritarianism, Spain has accomplished its modernization in economy by performing the strategies of "separation" and "reintegration"; Its political system has been edging discretely to the direction of democratic and constitutional government, its diplomacy is flexible and takes maintaining itself national interest as the core, its social life is loose day after day, all these have built the good foundation for Spain's achieving democratization finally.The conclusion is pointed out in the base of summarizing the dissertation abovementioned: the Pattern of Franco's ruling of the authoritarianism in Spain had reflected the general way and characteristic of a backward country to its modernization goal, is the typical pattern which backward countries realize their modernization. The Franco regime and Franco himself have made the significant contributions to Spain's progress, their contributions are so great and their stains are insignificant in a way, thus they should obtain the affirmation as a whole.
