| The Chinese painting reparation craft, which consist with basic working procedure such as Xi (wash), Jie (separate), Bu (mend), Quan (retouch), is a ancient workmanship with a long tradition and its own technical autonomy. On the other hand, the modern culture relic preservation is deeply rooted in a Western craftsmanship and the cultural retrospection of modern civilization The study presents the fundamental differences between Chinese ancient reparation principle, which is kept through the ancient workshop apprenticeship, and the modern preservation principle, which is constrained in form of legislation and criterion. The confrontation of ancient Chinese painting reparation and the modern painting preservation on principle level reveals as confusions between reparation technique and preservation criterion on practice level.By analyzing of autonomy of both concept, the study make a clear distinguish between reparation and preservation. Based on modern preservation principles, the study try to find some alternative solutions, which could renovate the ancient reparation crafts concordant with the modern criterion constraint. |
