Game spirit is a term from literary theory. Since Kant dissertation, its meaning has become more and more abundant illustrated by many theorists. Owing to the differences in cultural background and literature comprehension, the concept of the game in China has always been criticized as great scourges. However, the game spirit is such an indispensable literary factor that it still maintains vitality although it was rejected repeatedly and it is constantly implicated in the writer's creations. Particularly in the new period, the game spirit can fully fit the times demand, so it has become the constant topic of writers and commentators. Now there are multitudinous literary creations and the literary spirit showed is also very complex. Moreover, the game spirit contained in the contemporary literature is not mainstream, which is easily neglected. In addition to its emergence of dominant anti-contemporary discourse, it brings about exclusion from many people and has not attracted the attention form the academe and ideologists. Therefore it has not been systematically studied. However, its emergence demonstrated the complexity and multilevel of internal structure of the Chinese culture. As people are enthusiastic in for the game spirit, their understanding of it is varied, which casts mystery into the fuzzy originally defined game spirit. This paper concerns the new era of the game spirit, and doesn't mention again the "origin of the game spirit". Here game spirit is a unique means used by the contemporary writers to keep an eye on the world. It is an an intellectual strategy for them to perceive and understand the world. Their unique approach has stimulated the appearance of a number of fictions with game spirit. From this purpose, through the veil of history, we try to discover the aspect which was shadowed at one time in the history, and re-estimate unique value of some documents, and restore a colorful and noisy rather than relatively single literary world, and dialectically master this eternal characteristics of the fictions in the new era during the contradictions and unities between the undercurrent of writing with game spirit and the torrent of solemn writing and the unusual significance of the this spirit. Based on this theory, we can also clearly and systematically gain a new perspective to look at the new era of Chinese literature and find the everlasting charm of art from the fictions.Papers are divided into three parts: Chapter 1 discusses the novels in the new period and the game spirit. This chapter begins with development of the game spirit in the western world and Johan Huizinga's game theory. What should be indicated is that the game is a way of personal existence and progress in civilization. On this basis, I further outlined the development of the game spirit in China. Furthermore, I cited a number of novels with game spirit based on the analysis of reasons for the emergence of the game spirit in the literature of the new era. Chapter 2 mainly tells about the emotional expressions of the game spirit in the new period of in the novels. This chapter is divided into the four categories: the ordinary life, intellectuals, romance, historical fiction which were described in the new period novels containing the game spirit. "Game" is a distictive means by which writers reflect the world, meanwhile, it is an intellectual tactics by which they observe and perceive the world. Chapter 3 illustrates the forms of the game spirit in new period novels. I explained the skills and techniques of game spirit from the aspect of narrative skills, language game, jocosity, ridicule and parody levels and so on.
