With the rapid development of modern information technology, computers have been widely used in various industries as well as people's daily life; therefore individuals have direct or indirect experience of using computer. However, the usage of computers is not always exciting or satisfying, and even some computer users feel sick or afraid to use the computer, they have varying degrees of "computer anxiety". Therefore, a computer user's emotional experience or psychological reaction in the process of using a computer increasingly attracted the close attention of researchers. At present, the study about computer anxiety is mainly the conclusions targeted at the non-skilled computer users who solve simple computer tasks. Whether these conclusions also apply to high-level computer users deserves our further study. This study is concerned about the relationship between the computer anxiety, experience and self-efficacy of computer users with different levels; it is also concerned about the influence of these personal characteristics on the learning deeds and results; it further explores the teaching strategies of how to improve these personal characteristics.According to the above research purposes, the subjects of this study are from the graduates and undergraduates of 2006 (first year) of the Educational Technology Department in Shandong Normal University. First, a questionnaire is used to measure the subjects'computer experience, computer anxiety and computer self-efficacy scores, which provides a basis for the later experiments and data analysis. Then experiments are conducted among graduate students and undergraduates with different tasks. In the experiment the subjects'learning behavior is observed and recorded, and the learning results analyzed, so as to explore the influence of computer anxiety, experience and self-efficacy on their study and the influence of computer anxiety and self-efficacy on the subjects'study behavior. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:The first chapter introduces the background and the purpose of this study, expounds the theoretical basis - social cognitive theory, groups the important concepts, such as the computer experience, computer anxiety and computer self-efficacy and so on, and reviews the related foreign literature. The second chapter is about the research methods and designing. The experimental process, the selection of experimental subjects, the selection of measurement methods, the hypothesis and experimental designing is introduced in detail. The statistical analyzing methods are briefly introduced. The designing of experimental process is the most important part of this chapter.Chapter III is the focus of this paper. The questionnaire and the experimental data are analyzed with psychological and educational statistical analyzing methods, and the results are explained reasonably. The main analysis is as follows: the reliability and validity of the questionnaire; the comparison of the experience between low-level computer users group and high-level computer user group; The analysis of the relevance between computer anxiety, experience and self-efficacy; the influence of computer experience, anxiety and self-efficacy on learning results. The statistical methods for analysis used in this chapter are t-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple linear regressions. In Chapter IV, on the basis of the results obtained, the findings of the study are summarized, and significance of this study for education is discussed. It mainly includes: teachers how to effectively differentiate the levels of anxiety and sense of self-efficacy in accordance with the users'learning behavior; how to reduce low-level computer user's computer anxiety and increase high-level computer user's computer self-efficacy.Finally, the achievements are pointed out as well as the inadequacy and the follow-up research.
