A Study Of Chinese Teachers' Computer Skills And Computer Usage

The popularity of network and multimedia brought opportunities and challenges to the teachers who teach Chinese as a foreign language.Foreign language teachers should not only have solid language ability quality,but also must pay attention to their information and technological literacy.Nowadays,with the improvement of multimedia technology and the promotion of Chinese international education,researches of Chinese Computer Aided Teaching is becoming more and more popular.In this study,the questionnaire is randomly administered to Volunteer Chinese teachers(the “Chinese teacher” in this paper means “Volunteer Chinese teachers ”)who are going to teach Chinese in Australia and New Zealand in 2018.The study including the following parts:The first part: Basic information of Chinese teacher;Basic information of college's hardware infrastructure;The second part: Chinese teachers' computer skill and their ability of using computer;The third part: The frequency of using computer applications;The relativity between the Basic information of college's hardware infrastructure and the frequency of using computer;The frequency of using computer to teach Chinese;The relativity between the Basic information of college's hardware infrastructure and the frequency of using computer to teach Chinese;The fourth part: Chinese teachers' attitude towards using computers;the relativity between Chinese teachers' information and their attitude toward using computer;Chinese teachers' attitude towards using computer to teach Chinese;the relativity between Chinese teachers' information and their attitude towards using computer to teach Chinese;Chinese teachers' attitude toward training their computer skills.Research shows that most of the Chinese teachers are female,their ages are between 22 and 27 years old,and 60% of Chinese teachers have teaching experience;most universities are equipped with multimedia classrooms and electronic reading rooms,and the Internet is connected,which makes the network resources can be integrated into the teaching process.What's more,in terms of their computer skills,most Chinese teachers are at the basic level,and they usually use computer to search on the Internet,receive and send emails.In Chinese class,they use computer to make multimedia courseware and search teaching content.As for training their computer skills,most teachers are willing to participate in the training.They wish to know the latest dynamic of education technology on a regular basis,many teachers are looking forward to learn how to integrate network into teaching Chinese and hope to Collective teaching.
