On my thesis, I strive to study the periodical from two angles: historiography and editorial science, in order to realize one aspect in our national music culture development in 1920s. The periodical, as a medium, performs an essential function on propagating music culture at that time. It is no doubt that it also leaves for us a very precious history footprint. In the process of analysing and thinking, we can not only get the reality of history, but also the editor's thinking footprint of editing and organizating about the information .So we can say that the practice of Music magazine edited by the Association for The Advancement of Chinese Music's editor, had shown the music thoughts of Liu as well as the music culture pulse of modern times at the same time. So, Considering it as an object of study, we can not only realize the editing process and the editing thoughts from the angle of editorial science. What's more important is that we can know that the function of the National Music Progress Press on the music culture, also can find the worth theory and experience for the modern magazine's editor and the development of it.
