"like Leaves" To "bloom Bingdi"

Looking through the history of the development of the western art songs, the vocal melody and the piano accompaniment become to be a symbiont gradually. the piano accompaniment's status and role in art songs are promoting.Composers used the concept of viewing the situation as a whole to give the piano accompaniment the role that are as same important as the vocal music melody, the two parts create art images together.This article studied the relations between vocal music melody and piano accompaniment in the processes of development of western art songs and modern Chinese art songs respectfully, observed and analyzed three types of art songs including the ones used vocal melody as the main part while the piano accompaniment played the assistant role; the ones used those two parts equally; and the ones that used the piano accompaniment as the master roles. The conclusion is that the more art songs developed the more importa nt piano accompaniment became. The relations between the vocal melody and the piano accompaniment were like flowers and their leaves in the early times but it becomes to like two flowers blossom at the same time now, though the situation that two parts are of the same importance in art songs will remains main stream, there are even examples of piano accompaniment surpassing vocal melody. At the end of the article there is a discussion of the question how an artistic conductor handle his/her position while cooperate with a singer. During the discussion the author gave concrete analysis to some art songs, these analyses provide certain basis for the researching, teaching, singing and performing in the higher musicianship.
