To compare the effect of causal attribution and exsitential attribution on high school students' academic achievement, involving 504 high school students, this study revised Wong's Academic Attitude Scale(AAS). On the basis of the revised AAS, we compared the existential attribution and causal attribution on 238 high school students in their academic achievement field. Regress analysis were used to explore the predicted effect of causal attribution and existential attribution on academic achievement. The results were as follows:(1) There is another approach of attribution called existential attribution, Its performance and mechanism was different from the traditional causal attribution: Similar to the foreign research result, it contains four dimensions in academic field, including: personal growth, intrinsic value, instrument or extrinsic value, external pressure.(2)Some factors of causal attribution and existential attribution are significantly correlated with each other, but the coefficient is not high, existential attribution has better predictive effect than causal attribution. The order is as follows according to its effect: instrument or extrinsic value, external pressure, personal growth.(3) Considering its significant effect on academic achievement, existential attribution should be considered in attribution training to promote high school students' or college students' learning motivation.
