From the perspective of writers' personality and mentality, in the framework of psychology, and starting with the growing environment single-parent families, the poor and hard childhood experience and influence of national culture, the thesis explores the origin and presentation forms of Laoshe's narcissism, and further the influence of his subjective spirit world on the literary creation and its significance in the modern literature history.I argue that the single-parent family environment makes Laoshe a narcissist who protects males's esteem, which influences the formation of his traditional marriage outlook and helps him become a thinker in the "Enlightenment Movement in 1919" sponsoring individual liberation. Secondly, the poor and hard childhood and the lowest status render Laoshe's humor to show his personality and esteem, and also choose a different path from other intellectuals. Furthermore, his special national identity as well as the influence of wan culture and Beijing's ancient culture forms his narcissism and makes him on the side of the Chinese national culture, looking into the mental blindness covered by the modernism. Yet Laoshe's narcissism also helps him become a person out of "the Peking School" and the revolutionary writers. His literary creation has its own special significance in his times with different consideration and understanding of the reality.
