Meijinn is one of the most distinctive works worked by Kawabata Yasunari, in which not only the classical beauty of substance sadness, elegancy, deep and serene is manifested, but also the soul of Japanese traditional culture which the I-go represented is been revealed. This paper tries to study the I-go and Kawabata Yasunari which are been put in a big background of Japanese traditional culture, and also the internal relationship between the Kawabata Yasunari and the I-go culture is been combed in order to offer a new visual angle for domestic studying. This paper divides into three chapters:First chapter: Kawabata Yasunari and MeijinnThrough combing the course of Kawabata Yasunari inciting and settling the Meijinn and the related works group, the first chapter explores the deep reason for composing this work. Kawabata Yasunari and Honinbo Shusai's a variety of similar life experiences and the worry of the disappearance of postwar traditional culture in Japan constitute together the Kawabata Yasunari 's motivation of composing the work.Sencond chapter: Particular MeijinnThe uniqueness of Meijinn is investigated concretely from literary aesthetics and stylistic features. Not only the Meijinn contains the traditional beauty of substance sadness,but also the beauty of solemn and stirring that is been represented by depicting Honinbo Shusai facing the conflicts from old age to new one is been manifested, as well as the Chess-tao spirit introject the soul of bushido.In addition, Meijinn initiates a new style of literature form the view of style, which adopts the narrative style of reporting novel and combining the reality and imaginary.Third chaper: Meijinn and Japanese traditional cultureBased on the aforementioned chapters,the deep relation between the I-go and Japanese traditional culture is been revealed. The I-go which depicted by Kawabata Yasunari is the symbol of Japanese Chess-tao spirit, and this kind of Chess-tao culture which introject the "giku"and "katana"is also the soul of the Japanese traditional culture.
