Turgenef (1818--1883), the great realism writer in the 19th century, is the most early one who obtained the world prestige Russian writers. The lyric realism style that he expresses has had the profound influence to the later generation and the Europe and Asia literature. His six big novels had reflected in turn Russia's social movement and may say he is the art annalistic the most close to the time . Nihilism is the history complex and the contradictory phenomenon in the history of the Russian social thoughts.It not only has reflected the Russian society's profound contradiction after reform, but also has manifested the common intellectual then yearned for the freedom and equality. As one kind of unique Russian phenomenon, nihilism is the key link about Russia socialism from ideal to action. The significance of the article is to inquire into relations between Turgenef's novel creation and the nihilism from thought angle.
