Another "positive Nihilism"

In theory circles, As the Enlightenment idea and its"modernity"outcome's reflecting, questioning and criticizing, postmodernism has been controversial. Because of constant criticizing the West traditional ideology and culture,and even to dig out the basis of Western metaphysics,such as"modernity",postmodernism is classified directly as a (negative) nihilism.Someone thinks that it is unfair.It is also thought that postmodernist thinkers may be radical and biased in the process of challenging"modernity"hegemony, but they are definitely not a group of trouble-making nihilist.In order to clarify whether postmodernism is nihilism or not,author believes that we have to know of postmodernist basic conditions and nihilist basic conception, viewing them dialectically, and then evaluate them fully and objectively.The thesis aims at arguing about something that postmodernism is different from"negative nihilism"and Nietzsche's"active nihilism"as another"positive nihilism",to achieve the analysis of the relationship between postmodernism and nihilism. Starting from postmodernism trend's basic conditions and nihilist conception, the thesis analyzes dialectically and objectively.The text is divided into four parts. The first part mainly expounds postmodernist basic conditions, including the emergence of the postmodernist trend, the process of development and evolution as well as the basic characteristics of postmodernist idea. The second part mainly expounds nihilist conception. Starting from the origins of the basic conception of nihilism, it analyzes the controversy about the conception of nihilism firstly, focusing on Nietzsche's nihilism idea. The third part mainly expounds that postmodernism is a new"active nihilism"which is different from previous thought.It demonstrates the opposition between postmodernism and"negative nihilism"firstly, and then analyzes the similarities and differences between postmodernist critical theory,traditional critical theory and Nietzsche emptiness critical theory,and ultimately demonstrated that the postmodernism is a sort of"active nihilism".In the fourth part,in view of Marxist philosophy,it analyzes the positive significance and negative aspects of postmodern"nihilism".Finally, in the concluding remark, author elaborates briefly about the postmodernism development trendency and practical significance. In short, through learning of postmodernism thought profoundly and completely,the author wants to seek something that is meaningful to facing difficult position of current spiritual life,and to be vigilant against postmodern"nihilism"negative impact on the spread.
