Ink And Light Color

Venetian paintings reached the epochal achievement on the exploring light and color element of tone at the age of Renaissance, and it deeply affect the development of painting languages in later several centuries. But it not only belong to the western paintings on the exploring element of tone in painting languages, at the five dynasties and northern song dynasty which before than the age of Renaissance about six centuries, the Chinese ink landscape had already successfully used the element of tone at the aspect of exploring water and ink painting languages of landscape. This point very like the exploring of tone element of Venetian paintings, they were all slowly developed from their last times which formed by the painting languages of line and regional colors. An important reason of its form is the different conceptions on the light and air when they faced to the nature. This research mainly compare the reason and development courses of eastern and western painting languages from the ink landscape paintings of five dynasties and northern song dynasty with the Venetian paintings of the age of Renaissance.
