This paper analyzes and sorts out the "light and color" elements contained in the paintings of John Singer Sargent(1856-1925),a representative of the "External Light School" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.This paper discusses the presentation of "light and color" elements in Sargent’s oil paintings,as well as the enlightenment to the author’s artistic creation.The author divides the whole article into four parts.The first parts is an overall overview,expounding the purpose and significance of this topic,and summarizing the research status of domestic academic circles.The second and third parts focus on the "light-color" element present in Sargent’s paintings.First,analyze the reasons from the artist’s era and historical background.Secondly,interpret the presentation of figurative painting elements in Sargent’s paintings,which are expressed in the forms of single-person portraits,thematic character creations,and external light landscape sketches.This paper analyzes Sargent’s expression of the fusion,exploration and influencing factors of "light and color" elements in the painting language.The fourth parts is the main artistic creation and transformation application.The author draws on Sargent’s oil painting language rich in "light and color" elements,selects the face of Chinese life as the subject matter,and applies the "light and color" elements to the author’s artistic creations tentatively and innovatively.It aroused the author’s in-depth thinking on the ideological,artistic and epochal nature of his own artistic creation,and created works of art that conform to Chinese aesthetics and reflect the Chinese spiritual outlook. |
