Analysis Of The "cloud" In Poetry And Philosophical Dispute Phenomenon

This article is based on the analyses of the comedy The Cloud which is written by Aristophanes, and has a discussion about the Socrates whom we can see in this comedy. We will see that in The Cloud, Socrates has been taken as a representation of all faction of philosophers in the ancient Greek time. And Aristophanes, as a poet, give him an ironic criticism because the paradoxical conceptions between the philosophers and the poets in the ancient time in Greek. Then we can get the conclusion that this comedy is a reflection of The Quarrel between Philosophy and Poetry .So the main point of the article is to have a discussion about the original reason of The Quarrel between Philosophy and Poetry and the meaning of it.There are three chapters in this article, and each chapter has two parts. Chapter one is an instruction of The Cloud and the Socrates whom Aristophanes has written. Chapter two deals with the problem of how the comedy reflects The Quarrel between Philosophy and Poetry. And in chapter three, we get a conclusion of whole article.
