Researches related to attachment have been mature in recent years and research area have enlarged to adult attachment and romantic attachment from infant attachment. Many studies have correlated attachment and emotion regulation ability. General attachment representation (GAR) and Specific-relationship attachment representation (SAR) were differentiated and their measurement were described in this study. Emotion regulation ability in attachment area was defined as the way in which individuals to deal with their emotion, especially negative emotion.Because the exist measurement of GAR was complex and it was difficult to use this measurement, so this study was to develop scale which would be more suitable for Chinese people-Adult Attachment Interview Questionnaire (AAIQ). Based on this scale, this paper would explore the relationships between GAR, SAR and emotion regulation ability.(1) Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that AAIQ included four style of attachment: secure, preoccupied, dismiss and disorganized. What's more, the standards of AAIQ were develop and AAIQ indicated good reliability and validity. It could be used to assess the attachment of Chinese adults.(2) The main effects of GAR on emotion regulation react were not significant, but the main effects of GAR on emotion cutoff were significant. The main effects of SAR on emotion react and emotion cutoff were both significant. Secure attachment individuals' self-differentiation ability were significant higher than three other attachment style (dismiss, preoccupied, disorganized or fearful). GAR and SAR could predict emotion react and emotion cutoff independently, and their interaction was not significant.(3) Relationship between the preoccupied, disorganized of GAR and emotion react were wholly mediated by the avoidant and anxiety of SAR, and relationship between GAR and emotion cutoff were partially mediated by SAR. This indicated that GAR was the basis of attachment representation and it would influence individuals' socialization through SAR.
