| College English audio-visual& speaking, as a new course, has recently appeared in the English teaching in China with its prominent features of its times. It is based on the theory of Constructivism and on the platform of multi-media, computer and internet. It attaches great importance to the research of the learners' emotional elements and their studying strategies as well as to the exploration of the western culture, focusing on the cultivation of the students' abilities of listening, speaking, and self-studying.Formative evaluation is a kind of dynamic evaluation during the procedure. It is based on the three social scientific theories prevailed in the 20 century-multi-intellectual theory, Constructivist studying theory and second language acquisition theory, which were presented by the curriculum thought of post-modernism. This thought shows that the course should be more open, complicated, ricer with diversification, and the students should have much more opportunities to take part in course teaching. Besides, the teachers and students should have more interaction and talk and the teaching languages should be supportive and critical. Then, based on the function of acquisition, monitor, input and emotional filter, it makes the evaluating course change to be the procedural mode from the target mode, aiming at developing and promoting wholly the students' comprehensive qualities.Nowadays, being influenced by the traditional teaching evaluation mode, college English audio-visual& speaking course has taken the summative evaluation as the major.
