With the quick development of the society, the English education reform in the college has been carried out constantly. The students’listening and speaking ability which is developed under the old educational system can’t meet the need of modern society. Under the influence of traditional mode of evaluation, the English courses in most colleges of our country still adopt the mode in which work is almost evaluated by teachers at the end of each semester. As to the students’poor listening and speaking ability, it is necessary to reform our evaluation system. In this article, the focus is on trying to find out practical evaluation mode by introducing self-assessment and peer-assessment in the formative evaluation system in the audio-visual&speaking course. In combining the theoretical research with the empirical research, it is proved that the introduction of self-assessment and peer-assessment among students helps to exert positive influence on students’learning attitudes and learning strategies, and it also contributes to improve the ability of listening comprehension and oral speaking to a certain degree.
