The essay has chosen the architectures in "Notre-Dame De Paris" to be the researching object and carry out the crossing subject research. The description of architectures in "Notre-Dame De Paris" has showed the complicated relationship between architectures and people. Also, the description of architectures has showed the development of literature style from gothic novel to romantic novel and has showed the special romanticism idea of Hugo.This essay fits into three chapters:The first chapter, "Hugo and architecture art", has analyzed the background of the era in literature and architecture art field which was the reason why Hugo was the literary master and amateur of architecture art at the same time. The life of Hugo and his literature had close relationship with architecture art. Being a literary master and a amateur of architecture, Hugo had drawn the inspiration from architecture art, and his literary work was the combination of the two kinds of arts.The second chapter, "The architectures in literature narration in 'Notre-Dame De Paris'", has expounded the description of architecture. Firstly, because of the traits of gothic architecture, the author had adopted a special view angle that was bird view from the top of the city, which caused that the structure of the novel had presented a round construction. Hugo had put strong subjective emotion into the description of architectures which formed a landscape of human heart. Secondly, viewing people as the combination point of literature and architecture, the essay has researched the relationship between people and architecture by discussing two groups of people and proved the architectures in the novel had showed the civil culture.The third chapter, "The architectures in 'Notre-Dame De Paris' and romanticism", has discussed the relationship between the description of architectures and gothic novel, as well as Hugo's romantic idea of literature. Firstly, the description of architectures had succeeded the gothic novel tradition in horror environment, isolated location and abnormal people caused by architecture. Secondly, the architectures in "Notre-Dame De Paris" had showed Hugo's romantic idea of literature, the breakthrough of gothic novel and new creation.To sum up, it can provide us a lot of new enlightenment to discuss the theme, character and narration of "Notre-Dame De Paris" from the architecture angle.
