| The article includes three chapters to discuss the versions of "Ping Yao Zhuan", and the changes from the 20 chapter version to the 40 chapter version, as well as their inheriting to "Shui Hu Zhuan".The first chapter "the verification of the versions of ", mainly about the authors of the 40 chapter version and the 20 chapter version and their relations. Through the text study, the article overturns the view that the 20 chapter version and the 40 chapter version are written by Luo Guanzhong. Then it discusses the relationship between the 20 chapter version and the 40 chapter version concluding that the edition system of "Ping Yao Zhuan" consists of the original work by Luo Guanzhong, the 20 chapter version and the 40 chapter version.The second chapter "the transformation of the 40 chapter version from the 20 chapter version" mainly discusses the 20 chapter version's flaws on the plot and character settings which were fetched up in the 40 chapter version. Not only the 40 chapter version has much difference from the 20 chapter version on expressive and art styles, it has realized the transformation of the novel genres from the history-oriented genre with some evil-Spirit flavors to the real "historical-fantasy evil-Spirit Novels". The third chapter is "the inheritance of 'Ping Yao Zhuan' to 'Shui Hu Zhuan'. It looks back to the inheriting to "Shui Hu Zhuan" by the 20 chapter version and the 40 chapter version from the perspectives of eulogy, the plot, and so on. |
