The Lin Chong’s Role In The "Shui Hu Zhuan" Novel

Lin Chong, an outstanding character in the "Shui Hu Zhuan" classical novel (Water Margin). Lin Chong is a person without ambition but very capable and be respectful to others. This thesis attempts to discuss on such personality trait of Lin Chong in the plot development, analyze related plots mentioned by the author (Shi Nai’an) and his formation as a hero in the story. In the establishment of Liang Shan Bandit, it reveals that Lin Chong is not only the major player but a catalyst indeed. With’King maker’where enabling other to success as the conceptual framework, this thesis explores the influence of Lin Chong’s role in the entire story frame of <Shui Hu Zhuan> novel.
