Haizi hopes that Chinese modern poetry can directly face the "real life" and concern of life itself, thus it can enter language. In his long poem "Sun//Drama," he says that he himself "has being tended towards the rough, disillusioned and volatile substances from essence, also to the appearances of all the existent." He looks for "the contact of the entity" in his writings. His epic proceeds from the invocation of a certain "huge element". He sees poetry as "an one-off poetic action by human main body which lives in natural life-force". He has created great poetries while being in mirage and exile. These opinions on poetics reveal future generations in appreciating his poetry. This paper is one of these beneficiaries too.To a greater extent, this paper inclines to consider Haizi's poetry as a "Language Utopia", which is constituted of religion, romance and death. Haizi tries to transcend the constraints of time and space, despite of his being in modern discourse context. He wants to build national epics or even great verses through modern individual efforts, thus he can touch the spirit of the ultimate essence of language—conveying ideas and the truth. Ultimately, he sinks into logical antinomy of the language of its own. Because of this utopian sentiment, Haizi feels despair on all practical appearances of religion, romance and death, meanwhile, he constantly makes new seeking. He opposes historical determinism and universal experience, or even himselfe. In pilgrim's progress leading to the sun and in the process of his resisting "distance", Haizi slides into the abyss of nihilism, left a lot of enlightenment to succeeding generations. This paper is divided into four chapters, the foregoing three chapters discusses respectively on religion, romance and death these three topics. Haizi considers religion, romance and death as some kind of ceremony. These ceremonies, which sustain original utopian impulse in hominine heart, are inherited and continuously updated in the history of human civilization. Chapter IV categorizes Haizi's poetic ideal as the "language Utopia". People often feel sorry for their loneliness in this world. So they own fervent imagination to the realm of freedom. Poetry specifies a road towards this realm. Haizi tries to act as a priest who presides the fete, wedding and funeral. He makes a prediction to the world by the tone of prophet. The distant world which he has been yearning for has gone with the wind or has not yet come, however, he is just an individual that exists in the current world. All he can do is to bring symbol of the totems and symbols into language, thus he can achieve the faith and echo in divinity.
