Mysticism is one kind of understanding world way accompanying with the human civilization, and also one of important characteristics of literature. With the spring up of Root-seeking literature in the New Period of China, many writers ,once again, showed strong interests in the mysticism, such as Han Shaogong, Zha Xidawa, Jia Pingwa, Zhang Chengzhi, Shi Tiesheng, Mo Yan, as well as Yu Hua and Ge Fei called avant-garde writers, and some woman writers like Wang Anyi and Xu Xiaobin, etc.. After secreting itself for 20 years in Chinese literature of the 20th century, the mysticism renewedly provoked so many writers'interests in questing for it, the mysticism had been enchanted in the literary works in the New Period. The formation of one kind of literary thought must be some kind of reflection of writers'spirit world in this era, so the paper tried to deeply discuss the mysticism phenomenon in the literary works of the new period and find the cultural psychology deeply kept and rooted in a nation for it according to the principle of combining the history with the aesthetics, through adopting the research findings on cultural anthropology and psychology, and tried to reveal the reason,characteristic and significance of the enchantment phenomenon in the novel of the New Period by having recourse to the aesthetics and the history of Chinese thought.The paper included the content of five parts. The preface, the first part, formulated the connotation of mysticism and discussed the reason,characteristic and significance of the enchantment phenomenon of the literature of the period from the spirit standpoint of contemporary writers in the new period. The First chapter studied the national and folk attributes of the enchantment world and greatly showed its cultural value in writing on the basis of the folk departmentalism standpoint of contemporary writers; The Second probed into the enchantment world and revealed its artistic aesthetic from the aesthetic view of contemporary writers; The Third attempted to reveal the enchantment's influence on human modern civilization by analyzing contemporary writers'inquiring into ultimate meanings and artistic practicing . The final part of this paper is the epilogue.
