With narrative mode as its cut-in point,the thesis analyzes Fiction about Caizi—Jiaren novel,MandarinDucks and Butterflies Group and romance fiction in late Qing Dynasty so as to investigate romance fiction's development from early Qing Dynasty to early Republic of China.According to relative theories of narratology,the thesis divides narrative mode into two levels:one is structure mode and the other one is discourse model.The thesis selects representative novels from early Qing Dynasty to early Republic of China and discusses the development of their narrative mode and its meaning in novels' history from early Qing Dynasty to early Republic of China through particular analysis of these novels,and thus observes the profound reasons of the change of narrator.
