On The Aesthetic Characteristics Of Network Literature

The development of network technology has brought us network literature with great variety. So far the network literature, a new style of literary form, has occupied an important part in today's literary world. Viewed from the development of literary media, network literature seems to have brought about new space and opportunity for literary development.The paper is mainly concerned for the brand-new, free and open space for literature provided by the special form of network, and targeting toward the study on aesthetic significance of network literature, it attempts to articulate its own voice out of the divergent viewpoints in the academic world. Based on the analysis of network literature's creation and definition, the paper attempts to elaborate the aesthetic feature of network literature from the brand-new perspective---the new changes of the literary theorist Abrams' view in the era of network (from three areas: the world in which network literature exists, illustration of principal part in network literature, the text analysis of network literature). Further on, it carries on a multi-angle and full-range explanation from the perspective of literary theory and the status quo of network literature to elicit the new changes in aesthetics of network literature---the aesthetic problem of network literature, and to re-ask the aesthetic problem of network literature and even the whole literature, attempting to respond to the aesthetic value and meaning of network literature in the post-modern context.Generally speaking, the network literature has its own unique aesthetic significance in the aspects of freedom, civil, interactive, and carnival qualities, popularity and diversity, etc. The new aesthetic qualities are endowed with post-modern culture and consumerism. The paper tries to capture the spiritual sparks of the significance in literature and even humanities through the collision of techniques and aesthetics, seeking the aesthetics' specially existing value in network literature. It tries to take it as an opportunity to play the predicative role and provide forward-looking value for the development of literature in the Internet Age.
