By analyzing and comparing its works with Chinese contemporary realism novels during 1920s-1930s and 1950s- 1960s, it draws a conclusion that the neo-realism novels inherit and even go beyond the tradition, and that the neo-realism novels have unique aesthetic taste, in an orderly and narrative way the vivid description of real life is presented to us, especially the humble figure's plain life. By sociological approach, this paper depicts the neo-realism novels, which move their concerns on humble life, creating a series of typical figures and portraying various scenes of street life. All of these help to improve the isolative relationship between literature and readers. These works inspire and encourage their readers and they provide abundant material to sociological and custom research. In addition, the neo-realism novels make a development on tragedy. A reader almost can not find any important affairs in their work, but trifling affairs, nearly no affair at all. Which therefore obviously shows its extraordinary aesthetic and sociological value.
