As a great emperor, Han emperor Wu-di was interested in alchemist doctrine, immortality ideology and the witchcraft technique. The ghosts and gods ideology of Han emperor Wu-di was complex and confused, manifested in holding the great Suburbs Ceremony and Coronation at Mount. Ta, believing in alchemist and immortality and placing blind faith in divination and witchcraft technique.The entire Han Dynasty society was filled with a thick ghosts and gods atmosphere. Rreligious sacrifice,divination and witchcraft was popular. Han emperor Wu-di couldn't shake off the restrictions of the dominant ideas,so he "sacrificed ghosts and gods especially" on his accession to the throne. His obsession in ghosts and gods doctrine had a close relation to his personality and personal experiences. Han emperor Wu-di was active and full of energy,the affection from his family and the intense sense of responsibility to the country made him chose the way to immortality. The regional cultural was further blend and developed under the empery of unified feudal dynasty, some mysteries included in these regional cultural were influenced and assimilated mutually in the same environment. And Han emperor Wu-di was influenced profoundly by the romantic Chu Culture and the mysterious QiLu Culture. Associated with the Taoist HuangLao thought and the integration of Confucianism and alchemist Culture, Han emperor Wu-di had a preference for alchemist doctrine. Emperor Wu-di had belief in witchcraft and alchemy,and he considered making use of them to serve political to strengthen his government at the same time.Emperor Wu-di was the supreme ruler of the country,so his especial interests in alchemist and immortality doctrine had great influences on the entire country and society. Western expedition on DaYuan, Case of Prince Huainan and the fusion of alchemists and Confucian scholars had a close relationship with the immortality ideology of Han emperor Wu-di.Both of the First Emperor of Qin and Han emperor Wu-di were interested in immortality doctrine, and there are some same reasons. But their action and expression are different. Han emperor Wu-di 's penitence in his later life raised the curtain of "ZhaoXuan Restoration" ,formed a vivid contrast against the First Emperor of Qin .
