Study Of CaoYu's Plays On The View Of Chinese Mysterious Culture

This paper includes four chapters.The first chapter discuss about God which is a kind of mysterious power in Cao Yu's drama.Through the analysis of Cao Yu's drama,we can draw a conclusion that God is a mysterious and complicated topic.On the one hand,the God exists in people's conscious.It become people's collective unconscious to dominate their thought, conduct and value.C haracters in Cao Yu's drama express strong and complex feelings, such as fear, puzzled, inquiries, reverence, worship, ponder ,accusation and compromision.On the other hand,the God exists in matter of the material world.It's typical example are the thunder, the sun and the earth. As the God's materialization symbol ,those things put their power to good use in man's world instead of the God. Therefore,they are all become deities in people's minds.The second chapter is discuss about fortune which is another mysterious power in Cao Yu's Drama. Fortune is another mysterious topic In Cao Yu's drama. It shows as a kind of unfathomable and uncontrolled mysterious power . Firstly, fortune's tremendous force is unpredictable and uncontrollable.This kind of mysterious power in Cao Yu's Drama is showed as:uncanny polts,complicated connection ,complicated conflicts ,accidents and fatal coincidences which against expectation.Secondly, This kind of mysterious power also can't be change and resist.Fortune formulate everything for people.All personal resists was fruitless . Meanwhile,fatal transmigration which fortune arranged for people can't be broken forever. Fatal transmigration includes life and death transmigration,life phases transmigration and retribution transmigration.Being controlled by fortune,people only lives on the track that fortune has already laied down forever.The third chapter discuss about so many ghosts and gods phenomena appears in Cao Yu's drama. Ghosts and gods culture is one part of the Chinese civilization.Chinese belief custom is overall displayed in Cao Yu's drama,include the worship of gods, the frighting of ghosts, necromancy ,the expelling of ghosts, witchcraft and oneiromancy. Chinese belief custom has great govern and influence on Chinese .The fourth chapter analysis reasons of that there are so many mysterious contents in Cao Yu's drama.This chapter includes three facts.Firstly, analysis the growth experience of CaoYu .CaoYu was born from a Chinese typical bureaucrat family.The family were always shrouded in the atmosphere of Chinese mysterious culture.In some certain, CaoYu was grown up surrounded by Chinese mysterious culture.Secondly, search the influence of the Chinese classical literature. The Chinese traditional literature has strong mysterious colour.Cao Yu has accepted systematic Chinese traditional literature's education since he was a child.So he was deeply influnenced by it.Thirdly,Chinese traditional opera cultivated specific audience which has specific aesthetic approach.When they enjoying traditional opera, they are all need watching the excitement, novelty and mystery. Therefore, The mysterious style of Cao Yu's drama was closely related to Chinese audience's aesthetic approach.
