Since then, the marriage have been raised for the saint and become the symbol of combination about God and the Church.The process of the marital norms experienced was very long, and they have been established in Western Europe till the late of middle ages. According to the idea of the church, marriage should in the form of monogamy strictly, either woman or man have the autonomous right to choose their partner, if there is no obstacles. The wedding should be held in the church and the divorce will not be permitted. In addition, the husband-wife relationship and sexual ethics also have been formulated by the Church.The progress of the marital norms can not be ignored although they have not been functioned very well.
