| 《Great Collection of Ancient and Modern Books》is the fullest, most comprehensive officially compiled reference Encyclopedia, which is referred to as the best ancient encyclopedia in China. Based on the Great Collection of Ancient and Modern Books, this article is about the study, research and analysis of Zheng in Reference Book of Music:《Zheng Bu》, one part of this massive ancient encyclopedia. So far there isn't any book which specifically talks about the study of music in any encyclopedia.《Zheng Bu》is a database of the ancient literatures of Zheng, which reflects the royal collection of books on ancient musical literatures in Qing Dynasty, and reviews the part that music plays in the lives of upper class in ancient China. It comprises of over one hundred articles about Zheng. The amount of different literature styles and origination of these precious articles are unparallel in history.《Zheng Bu》contains a great amount of precious literatures and materials about Zheng, which were carefully classified. It presents the broad picture of the development and the culture of Zheng before Early Qing Dynasty, which makes it an essential material for researching and studying of poems, artists and allusions related to Zheng.Based on the study of《Zheng Bu》, this article clarifies the differences and similarities of Zheng in regards to their names, shapes and material used, and analysis the history, poems, artists, production, composition and melody of Zheng. By researching authorized history, classical literatures which contains information about Zheng, and studying this ancient encyclopedia, the researcher systematically presents the development and the ancient culture of Zheng. |
