This article mainly discusses how Fang dongmei absorbed Taoism in his philosophy. Fang's ideology will be divided up into three main parts in this article. That is life philosophy, comparative cultural and life aesthetics. With discussing these three parts, it will analyze the absorption of Taoism in Fang dongmei's ideology. In the fourth part, it will discuss Fang's views about Neo-Confucianism. These views were formed after he compared the thought of Neo-Confucianism and Taoism. Fang devoted himself to the revival of the Chinese culture. He hoped that the Chinese culture can be restored to the original philosophy of Confucianism and Taoism. The thought of Confucianism and Taoism are appeared in Fang's books simultaneously. Fang views the original Confucianism and Taoism as the source of the Chinese culture to provide a lot of enlightenment in our reflection on the transformation of Chinese culture from tradition to modernization.
