The first part sorts out the historical development threads, major classification and elements as Genre Film and focuses on the evolution of Ethical spirits in the film in the past thirty years. The second part, beginning with two development threads, inheritance and subversion, of Ethical film, later on probes into the problems encountered in the course of Genre Film development in China. The third part, through detailed analysis of film directors and their works, expounds and proves the points discussed in the previous chapters and recognizes the efforts for commercialization made by contemporary Chinese film makers.
