Francesco Petrarca(1304-1374),the first humanist of the Renaissance,who was named the "Father of the Renaissance".Petrarch was born with silver spoon in his mouth,He was pregnant with ideas,perished in pursuing his ideal;He had a wide knowledge,was successful in his career.To realize his self-value,he worked and fighted all his life.He was very fond of literature and was keen on studying the works of the ancients;he was a famous philosopher of the Renaissance and advocated philosophy.On the one hand,Augustine was his theological tutor in his mind,he devoted himself to studying the Christian doctrine,on the other hand,he was discontented with the Christian religion to some extend.He was overwhelmed by mixed love-hate feelings.He had detailed and complicated ideological system,the religions Concepts was characteristic,his religions ideas were embodied in his poetry and collected letters.What's more,his religions Concepts influenced highly Renaissance and many thinkers,ln this essay,I will read the works of Petrarch and search for the thought tracking of his religions idea.Thereby,I will explain Petrarch's religions Concepts:for one thing he criticized the disadvantages of the church severely,for another he defend church sovereighty.
